Tibet talks to resume in July

China said it will meet with representatives of the Dalai Lama for a second round of talks in early July, Reuters reported, citing state media. The first meeting between the two sides took place on May 4, though the second round, originally scheduled for June, was postponed in the wake of the Sichuan earthquake. China has maintained that the violence that broke out in Tibet in March was spurred by the "Dalai Lama clique," while the leader’s two envoys said in May that the riots had been "a clear symptom of deeply felt grievances and resentment of the Tibetans" towards long-standing Chinese policies.
