Toyota President Akio Toyoda will speak in China today about his company’s quality problems, the AP reported. Toyoda was recently in the US, testifying to Congress about a number of product quality problems in its car models, including problems with braking systems and floor mats. In China, Toyota announced the recall of 75,552 RAV4 sport-utility vehicles last January due to problems with their accelerator pedals. Toyota is a late entrant to the China market, only launching a Chinese made version of its Camry model here in 2006, but China has rapidly overtaken the US and Toyota to become the car maker’s top market. Last year Toyota’s sales in China increased by 45% to 13.6 million units.
