The world’s largest travel retailer and operator of duty-free stores, DFS, is homing in on Chinese customers, The Wall Street Journal reported. DFS will focus on selling expensive handbags, watches, and cosmetics, luxury items that have been popular with Chinese customers. Philippe Schaus, the chief executive of DFS, said that the company intends to target Chinese travellers by placing more stores around Europe, Southeast Asia, Oceania and Hawaii. The company’s sales totaled US$3.4 billion last year with a fifth of those sales coming from Chinese customers.
