In a new report published on food safety in China, the UN stresses the importance of building public trust in the government’s ability to ensure that products are reliable. "The public is best served by a single consistent authoritative source of advice they can trust," the report said. The report advocates the creation of a unified and enforceable system capable of ensuring product safety from farm to table. It also calls for better education of producers so they understand their responsibilities in terms of making safe food.
