Urban unemployment rate at 4.2%

Although China's urban unemployment rate stayed unchanged from the 4.2% posted at the end of last year, China's urban jobless rose 50,000 from last year to 8.32 million in March, state media reported, citing the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. China added 2.7 million new jobs in urban areas, achieving 30% of the government's target to create nine million new jobs in 2005, according to state media.
