US creates China office

The US created an Office of China Affairs, which will operate under the US Trade Representative. The new office will employ attorneys and trade experts to focus on issues including intellectual property violations and China's manufacturing policies. Analysts said the office's creation was a result of political pressure on the Bush administration to show that it is serious about lessening the US trade deficit with China and stemming the flow of US jobs overseas.
