Three container loads of poor quality medical supplies from US charity organizations were rejected and will be returned, reported state media. Donations included stained bedding, used surgical clothing and expired equipment. The supplies entered China via Tianjin, and were sent to Anhui and Hebei provinces and Beijing. Some items had use-by dates of 1998. AP reported that an official said the donations were from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.
