At the start of her tour through Asia since becoming US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice said the US will bolster its military strength and increase cooperation with its Japanese and South Korean allies in response to China's growing military power. Rising tensions over Taiwan have raised concerns in Washington about China's military buildup, Rice said.
