Volunteers to keep Olympic Green visitors civilized

The managers of the Olympic Green park said they will recruit 60 volunteers for the coming holidays to instruct tourists to treat public facilities with respect.
The Olympic Green, centerpiece for the 29th Olympic Games, sits on a total of 1,215 hectares and has wooded areas and greenery.
Damage to many facilities in the park has been fairly extensive, although it has all now been repaired.
"It’s true that some tourists did bad things to the sculptures and facilities in the park," said Tian Juqing, the standing vice director of the Beijing Olympic Park Administration Committee.
"The Olympic Green will probably attract 200,000 visitors during the Mid-Autumn Festival and 300,000 during the National Day holidays on the peak days," said Tian.
China.org.cn reported Tian as saying university-recruited volunteers would be on hand to monitor tourists’ bad behavior during this year’s holidays.
