Warning on renminbi on Taiwan

Johannson Liu, vice chairman of the Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, said the renminbi could not be used in any exchange on the island until a clearance mechanism is implemented and said that customs authorities had been told to confiscate any Chinese currency above the RMB 6,000 (US$724) residents are currently allowed to bring into Taiwan.
