Work accidents decrease

The latest State Administration of Work Safety statistics showed there were 41,393 deaths from work-related accidents in the first four months of 2004, 13% fewer than for the same period last year. The administration said coal mine fatalities dropped by 12.3% in the first quarter over the corresponding quarter in 2003. Across all sectors in 2003 there were 963,976 accidents, 136,340 of them fatal.
