Xi’an Aircraft Industry Group has rolled out the MA600, a new regional passenger aircraft. The company’s next project is to manufacture the country’s first large passenger aircraft
China is now one step closer to fulfilling its desire to build its own large (depending on your definition) passenger aircraft.
Earlier this month, a group of XAC’s professionals visited the Shanghai-based Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (CACC), which was recently inaugurated to direct aircraft-building activities.
The intention is to promote joint technology research on the manufacture of large aircraft which are defined as those with a load capacity that exceeds 100 tons. If you are thinking passenger aircraft that is 200 seats so it is a sizeable aircraft but not, by the standards of today, very large.
The government has directed CACC to take the lead in developing, manufacturing and marketing the aircraft, while XAC has the task of conducting more tangible research work.
