China’s home appliance industry has the world’s largest scale of production after more than 30 years of development. However, it still lacks independent research and development capabilities.According to the MIIT, by 2015, the average R&D investment in the home appliance industry will be equivalent to about 3% of the industry’s sales revenue.
Meanwhile, more than 20 state-qualified technology centers and at least five international enterprises with comprehensive competitiveness will be set up.
China Knowledge states that the guidelines also call for the foundation of overseas manufacturing bases to build up internationally coordinated processes in China’s home appliance industry.
