47 killed in Taiwan plane crash

Forty seven passengers aboard a Taiwan TransAsia Airways flight died on Wednesday when the plane carrying them crashed after a failed emergency landing near Magong airport on Penghu island, BBC News reported, citing local media. There were a total of 54 passengers and four crew on board the flight from Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s CNA news agency reported. Aviation officials said flight GE222 aborted its initial landing and then crashed.
