[photopress:5fad_image.jpg,full,alignright]Hangzhou-based online music provider 5fad said the RMB100 million claim it filed against Baidu for unauthorized downloads will begin judicial proceedings in Beijing in mid-October.
Chinese music site 5Fad sued the Chinese search engine in mid-July for copyright violation of over 1,000 songs claimed to be owned by 5fad. It demands compensation in what it said could be the largest intellectual property rights case in China.
5fad said Baidu has yet to respond to the claim. This case will be followed with rapt interest by every music company in the world.
