[photopress:Jinhan.jpg,full,alignright]Jinan University, in south China’s Guangdong province, has just celebrated its centenary. Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said in a congratulatory letter to the university in Guangzhou that the Jinan University has made a great contribution to the work of overseas Chinese affairs, the reunification of country, the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao.
Jinan University’s Management School offers an industrial economy program which is one of the six national key programs. Its Business Management Theory and Practice Research program is listed in the National 211 Project Programs.
Jinan School, the predecessor of Jinan University, was founded in Nanjing in 1906. In 1927, Jinan School was renamed Jinan National University. It moved to Fujian province during the Second World War and finally re-established in Guangzhou in 1958.
Jinan University now has more than 30,000 students and 12,145 of them are students coming from 77 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
