A-Power wins $279m China contract

Chinese green firm A-Power Energy Generation Systems (APWR.NASDAQ) has won a contract from Baishan Long Run Water Conservancy Development for a six-year project valued at RMB1.87 billion (US$279 million), Reuters reported. The engineering, procurement and construction contract is for a water conservancy project that is located in Baishan, in China’s Jilin province. A-Power is a provider of distributed power generation systems and also a wind turbine maker. The three phases of the project should each last approximately 24 months, and revenue is to be calculated on a percentage of completion basis. A-Power’s Nasdaq shares were up 9% in extended trading on the news. The company said the contract provides better sales visibility for the second half.
