The Abu Dhabi government is fast-tracking its push to extensively tap into China’s technologies, from renewable energy and EVs to robotics, reports the South China Morning Post. This comes as it pursues a greener economy.
Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, chairman of the Abu Dhabi department of energy, told the SCMP that his department was in talks with 22 Chinese firms, including CATL, during a recent visit to Shanghai, and expected a deepened tie-up with China’s industry leaders to facilitate infrastructure development in Abu Dhabi.
“What we have seen here is amazing,” said the chairman. “They are ready to develop the right solution for Abu Dhabi, and this is what we want to achieve.” Al Jarwan added that Abu Dhabi authorities would provide highly efficient logistics and policy support to the Chinese firms to accelerate the pace of construction amid growing demand for renewable energy due to booming AI development.
