[photopress:wuxi_canal_city.jpg,full,alignright]Accor has opened an economy class hotel, the Ibis Wuxi. Wuxi is a key regional business center only two hours drive north of Shanghai.
This is the fifth Ibis hotel to open in China. A further 36 Ibis hotels are under construction or committed for development by 2008. This will bring the total Ibis network in China to between 40 to 50 hotels.
Located on picturesque Taihu Lake in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Wuxi is an important economic center and a transportation hub for the region. Often referred to as ‘Little Shanghai’ because of its highly developed industry and flourishing economy, Wuxi is listed as one of China’s 15 key economic centers.
The 216-room Ibis Wuxi is in Wuxi’s new business district only 10km from the airport and 5km from the railway station. It is also just 3km away from major expressways connecting the city with Nanjing and Shanghai.
Ibis Wuxi is offering an opening rate of only RMB158 until December 31, 2007 inclusive of breakfast.
