[photopress:googlepages014.jpg,full,alignright]Google is the most desirable place to work in a survey of MBAs this year, according to Universum, a research company in Philadelphia, USA. McKinsey, which held the survey’s top position for 12 years, came in second.
Google workers get free meals, shuttles to work and on-site massages. On the other hand, the hours they work would kill a horse. Google ranked second in the survey last year, Apple was sixth, and Microsoft seventh.
However, consulting firm McKinsey was still the most desirable employer among male MBA students, as well as the most popular management-consulting company to work for. Boston Consulting Group was second, and Bain & Co. ranked third.
Universum polled 5,451 students for the survey, which the firm bills as the largest of its kind.
For Chinese MBAs there is the happy thought that Google has not only opened in China but is building up a fair sized operation. Get into Google and you have massages, free meals, transport to work and a 128 hour working week. Perfect for a new MBA.
