Agnes b. plans China expansion

French fashion brand Agnes b. plans to open seven additional outlets in China to take advantage of growing consumer demand, Bloomberg reported. Agnes b. currently operates seven stores in Beijing and Shanghai. Peter Leong, the company’s regional commercial manager said that the new stores would be opened over the next three months, but did not comment on possible locations. "The Chinese economy is just so resilient. When everyone else is going down, it’s been going up," Leong said, calling China a "bright spot" for the company. Products at the brand’s Chinese stores will changed slightly to appeal to Chinese customers, he said. Retail sales in China grew 15.2% in May, the quickest expansion in four months.
