Business travelers seriously appreciate premium lounges. Thus the opening of a new lounge at Baiyun airport in Guangzhou will almost inevitably have a beneficial effect on business travel. This initiative was taken jointly by Air China and Baiyun Airport. It is important that the new lounge meets Star Alliance standards for executive lounges and is not just a separate room.
Furnished in South China style, the new premium lounge covers an area of 1,000 square meters and becomes the 8th Star Alliance member’s lounge in China and the largest at Baiyun Airport.
The 165-seat lounge includes reception, dressing room, shower room, sleeping area, food & beverage area, smoking area, entertainment zone, internet cafe, baggage storage, mobile recharging stations and two VIP rooms.
PR Newswiew reports eight Star Alliance member airlines, including Air China, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, ANA, THAI, Egypt Air and Asiana Airlines, are operating in Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, offering over 120 domestic flights and 20 international flights to 20 domestic cities and seven cities abroad.
Baiyun Airport allocated its East Concourse 2 to be exclusive to the Star Alliance. In 2010, the Asian Games will be held in Guangzhou when the lounge will be fully utilized.
