Airbus is close to finalizing a deal to sell 184 A320 aircraft to Chinese carriers, French President Emmanuel Macron said at the end of his three-day state visit to China, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged to maintain order volumes and parity between Airbus and rival Boeing, Macron told a news conference Wednesday. He said France also hoped to agree deals sell Airbus A350 and A380 models to China in the coming months.
Airbus said Tuesday that it would raise production at its A320 final-assembly line in Tianjin and pledged to deepen its cooperation with China. Macron didn’t specify when the deal for the new planes would be finalized.
