European engineering giant Alstom has been awarded a contract worth m65m to supply a 300MW CFB (circulating fluidised bed) boiler for a thermal power station at Baima, Sichuan province. The boiler will be built with Dong Fang Boiler Group.
In addition, Alstom is granting a 15-year transfer of CFB technology to China's three main boiler manufacturers, Dong Fang, Harbin and Shanghai Boiler Works. Alstom expects to build several units in co-operation with the Chinese makers to ensure efficient implementation of the technology.
