AMD to build Suzhou facility

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) announced that it plans to invest US$100 million in a wholly owned test and packaging plant facility in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. AMD, the world's number two microprocessor manufacturer, said the plant will focus on serving local and international demand. AMD said the facility will have an annual test and package capacity of 10 million units. No schedule was provided for the plant's construction.
