Apple has apologized to Chinese users for its customer service practices, giving into pressure from a Chinese state media attack last month, Financial Times reported. On Apple’s Chinese language homepage, CEO Tim Cook apologized for his company’s lack of communication, admitting that it could lead to perceptions that Apple was “arrogant”. Cook admitted that Apple has “much to learn” about communicating and operating in China. This kowtow comes after a relentless campaign from CCTV’s flagship news program and complaints from Chinese celebrities accusing the company of providing poor after-sales service to Chinese consumers. Some, however, have accused the stars of being in cahoots with the state broadcaster.
