The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation has named eight areas as locations for pilot logistics joint ventures, China Daily said. The trade bureaux in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing and Shenzhen would accept applications to establish Sinoforeign joint ventures or co-operative firms that would provide a complete supply chain with a one-stop logistics service.
The ventures should have a registered capital of at least US$5m and the overseas investor would be limited to a maximum 50 per cent share. At least one of the partners should have experience in international cargo services and the other would need to have experience in transport or distribution.
