Arris, a firm based in Atlanta, Georgia that supplies broadband access equipment for telecommunications companies, has been chosen as one of China’s top 10 foreign companies in the industry.
Ming Wu, Arris vice president of business development, said the company has made a "long-term commitment to the Chinese telecommunications market, and specifically to its rapidly expanding cable segment."
GlobalAtlanta reports that Arris has 75 engineers at its research and development center in Shenzhen, and also has offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
China has more than 400 million internet users, more than any other country, and many on-demand models for content delivery via the internet and television are sprouting up.
Arris is a market leader in products that allow operators to deliver a full range of integrated voice, video and data services to their subscribers. And so the more bandwidth consumed, the better for Arris, which sells the equipment needed to support rapid transmission of data.
