Aviation R&D park begins construction

Construction has begun on the Xi'an Yanliang State Aviation High-tech Industry Base that aims to, by 2010, produce an annual output worth RMB20bn yuan (US$2.42bn) and cultivate an industrial chain consisting of 10 key aviation enterprise groups and 1,000 related firms, state media
reported, citing the base's deputy director. The aviation research and development base, located in the Shaanxi province, is about 50 km from Xi'an.
