Cosmetics giant Avon said it plans to add another 500 boutiques a year to its sales network in China over the next few years. The company has followed a different strategy in China to the direct sales network it uses in other parts of the world and already has about 5,500 beauty boutiques across the country.
Avon is planning to introduce new product lines in 2005 and says it is expecting revenue to reach US$400 million by 2007.
