Baidu (BIDU.NASDAQ) founder and chief executive Robin Li has proposed China establish a state-level “China Brain” initiative to turn the country into a leader in artificial intelligence systems, South China Morning Post reported. Li, also a delegate to one of China’s nominal legislative bodies, told reporters on the sidelines of the current session in Beijing that the military was welcome to join the project because it was a sector with extensive funding resources that had played a significant role in technology innovation and had huge demand for the latest high tech advances.
