China’s leading search engine Baidu (NASDAQ.BIDU) announced on Tuesday that it will start hiring software engineers from the US early next month, signaling its ambitions to expand its technological capabilities and raise the company’s global profile, Reuters reported. A Baidu spokesman said the company plans to hire 30 mid- to senior-level software engineers from Silicon Valley at a job fair on July 10 to lead new technology projects. This will be its first direct hiring from the US. The search engine’s hiring initiative in the US shows that the traditionally domestic-focused Baidu is eager to boost its brand globally.
