Baidu's profit soars

Baidu, China’s biggest search engine, reported a nearly 50 % increase in its fourth-quarter profit. Baidu lauched a new technique that enhances search results and checks the effectiveness of advertisements appearing on its pages. The result is soaring profits.

Baidu is not resting on its laurels just because Google is having its problems. It is pushing harder and harder to increase it presence on the internet. Net income in the three months ended December 31 reached $62.7 million, a 48.2% increase.
Its total revenue surged 39.8% from a year ago to $184.7 million, higher than the upper end of its previous guidance of $180 million.
EnglishEastDay.com reports Baidu’s  new "Phoenix Next" system helps to improve search results and monitors the effectiveness of sponsored ads on the Web pages users click on.
