China officials denounced Taiwan's move to remove all labels at the National Palace Museum that identify exhibits as from the Imperial Palace in Beijing, state media reported. Officials made it clear that they consider the "de-sinicizing" moves as bordering on secessionist. Taiwanese authorities have also called for the revision of history textbooks, to replace terms such as "our country" and "mainland" to "China" in order to promote Taiwanese independence. Mainland scholars have condemned the change, saying the revised regulation ignores historical facts and is just another attempt to cut Taiwan's links to the mainland.
