Beijing considers nature preservation tax

Beijing is exploring possible ways to levy taxes to fund a new environmental preservation system, said Du Ying, vice director of the National Development and Reform Commission. The system would serve to collect government revenues from richer parts of China to aid nature preservation efforts in protected areas, Xinhua Net reported (in Chinese).
