Beijing has announced a list of new policies designed to attract and retain foreign talent for its Silicon Valley analogue, Reuters reports.
Foreign workers at Zhongguancun Science Park will receive extensions of their visa terms as well as permanent residence certification, then allowing them to take a leading role in their company’s innovation projects.
The Chinese capital, already a major hub in AI, is intent on overtaking Silicon Valley to become a world leader by 2030. The central government, however, acknowledges that there remains a considerable gap in the way of talent.
