Beijing plans logistics port

Developers in Beijing are planning to build China's largest logistics port in the city, China Daily said. The principal sponsors of the development are Beijing Jingtai Logistics and Kerry Group of Hong Kong. It will involve a total investment of Yn11bn. The port will be built on a 3m sq metre site in Shibalidian in the eastern suburbs of the city, close to the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu expressway. When completed in 2006, the port is expected to provide logistics services for Beijing's high-tech parks and its central business district.
