Beijing plans transparency website

China will open a government portal website on January 1 to improve government transparency, state media reported, citing an executive meeting of the state council on Wednesday. The website was touted as one of the key measures to promote innovations in government administration and would make government affairs more public, improve government public services and improve administration efficiency. Meanwhile, China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced Wednesday it would launch a website to publicly report corruption.
