Roads and airports in Beijing reopened after heavy smog

Roads and airports in Beijing were reopened on Monday after they were shut down due to heavy smog at the end of a major public holiday, Bloomberg reported. Sunday saw six expressways that are linked to Shanghai, Tianjin and Harbin close and disruptions to at least 47 flights at Beijing Capital International Airport. Severe pollution had led to their closure. An estimated 430 million people were expected to travel during the holiday that ended on Monday, according to the China Tourism Academy.
