Beijing tourism: $38.6 billion target

Beijing has a target of $38.6 billion in tourism revenue this year which is 7.1% more than in 2009.

Beijing is looking to another boom year for tourists. According to the Beijing Tourism Administration the target is 176 million domestic and foreign tourists, or 5.3% more than last year. Or, looked at another way, income of $38.6 billion.
 
China Knowledge reports that one pointer is that Beijing Jingxi Tourism Development, one of the leading tourism companes in Beijing, has predicted that its net profit amounted to around $490,000 in 2009.  

Which is a lot better than 2008, when the firm suffered a net loss of $4.9 million.
