Beijing urges restraint on edible oil prices

The National Development and Reform Commission has urged Chinese edible oil producers and industry associations to make efforts to rein in the market price in order to dampen inflation, Xinhua reported (in Chinese). NDRC officials told leaders of edible oil companies and industry associations at a closed-door meeting that they must bear in mind the overall interests of the country as the cost of raw materials increases and keep price increases within a "reasonable" range.
