J-Power, formally known as Electric Power Development Co and now at work building a 1.2m kW coal-fired power station in Shanxi province, said it is expanding its China power plant plans. Although it did not reveal specific projects, the company said it would expand its hydro and coal-fired generation targets by "a few million" kilowatts, according to Dow Jones. J-Power has signed more than 20 deals with local governments, starting with its first in Fujian province, where it built a 750 megawatt thermal station in the 1980s.
