Bird flu claims 20th death in China

A migrant worker in Shanwei, Guangdong, has become China’s latest victim of H5N1 bird flu, AP reported. Her death, China’s 20th from bird flu, came as China has reported its fourth H5N1 outbreak among poultry this year. The 44-year-old woman had been suspected of contracting the disease after developing symptoms on February 16. The outbreak, which killed 4,000 poultry in Guizhou province, had been "effectively contained" through the culling of an additional 240,000 birds. Earlier this year, H5N1 was reported in poultry in Xinjiang and Tibet
