China on Tuesday reported two more fatalities from a new strain of bird flu, bringing the death total to nine and raising the total number of infections to 33, state media reported. An 83-year-old man in Jiangsu province and a 35-year-old woman in Anhui province died of the H7N9 avian virus on Tuesday, while authorities found two new cases in Shanghai and two in eastern Zhejiang province, The Wall Street Journal reported. New cases of the flu were also found in five live bird markets in eastern China, Reuters reported. The outbreak has caused a sharp drop in the China sales of KFC parent Yum Brands Inc (YUM.NYSE), according to separate reports.
