BMW planning recall of 232,000 cars in China

German automaker BMW (BWM.ETR) announced it would recall 232,000 cars in China to check for screws that may be prone to breaking, Reuters reported, citing a company spokesman. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine had on Wednesday informed BMW that the recall of the imported and locally produced cars was necessary. According to the spokesman, BWM will start inspecting the cars in June to check whether certain screws in the six-cylinder petrol engines are defective and may cause oil loss. BMW will decide whether further recalls are necessary in other markets.
