Authorities arrested at least five officials at Bank of China's Shanghai branch, state media reported. The arrests were reportedly in connection with former BOC Chief Executive Liu Jinbao, who is under investigation for alleged bribe-taking when he was general manager of BOC Shanghai from 1993 to 1997. Names were not released.
