A Bank of China manager may have literally gotten away with it. The operations manager in the bank's Yincheng city sub-branch, in Hubei province, may have walked away with US$332,000 from the vault of his own branch, the South China Morning Post reported. The manager, by the name of Xiao Kui, stuffed the cash in a large bag on November 26 and walked out of the bank, according to mainland media reports quoted by the Hong Kong newspaper. Nobody noticed until a week later when Xiao Kui failed to show up for work after some holiday time he had previously requested. Other bank employees discovered the theft after they managed to open the vault.
