Borouge awards Shanghai logistics hub contract to Agility

Borouge, a major manufacturer of petrochemicals and plastics, has signed a service contract with Agility to build a factory (called a Compound Manufacturing Unit which sounds more important) and Shanghai Logistics Hub.

Agility will also provide local logistics services for Borouge’s customers in Asia for a duration of 10 years with effect from its operational start up date of 2010.

Agility will undertake the design, development and subsequent operation of the logistics hub which will give sufficient infrastructure, storage facilities, packaging and distribution services to accommodate Borouge’s products dispatched from Abu Dhabi.

It will handle and distribute a total volume of approximately 600 kilotonnes of polyolefins (basically polyethelyne) out of the Shanghai logistics hub annually.
