BYD is set to become the first car manufacturer from China to enter the US electric car market, after unveiling its green-tech vehicle in Detroit, AFP reported. The company aims to have the e6 model on sale in the US by the end of 2010. Henry Li, general manager of BYD Auto Trade Export said at the Detroit auto show that "as a major developer and manufacturer of electric vehicles, BYD is devoted to creating safe, efficient and affordable electric vehicles.” The vehicle will have a top speed of 87 miles per hour and a maximum range of 200 miles.
