Car parts giant plans big China expansion

German car parts maker Robert Bosch said it will invest 550m (US$736m) over three years to expand manufacturing activities in Wuxi and Suzhou. The company said it would also spend ?30m on TV and billboard ads promoting its braking and diesel-injection systems. Bosch hopes to increase its China sales from 1.3bn in 2004 to 5bn euros in by 2013. Vehicle sales in China are projected to double (from 5.2m this year) by 2010.
